Definition:

Land-spreading

The act of spreading wastes on land. The waste replaces other substances that would otherwise have been used for agricultural benefit or ecological improvement e.g. artificial fertiliser, lime. Spreading is the distribution or dispersal of a substance over the surface of a certain area and is not the same as infilling.
