Aerial Application Certificate

Any person wishing to carry out aerial spraying for agricultural, horticultural or forestry purposes including training must hold an Aerial Application Certificate granted by the Civil Aviation Authority as required by the Air Navigation Order.

The application must be made to the Authorities General Aviation Department on form CA2345 accompanied with the appropriate fee and Aerial Application Manual. The CAA will then carry out a detailed examination of all aspects relating to the operator and proposed operation before granting the licence. Licences are normally only issued for a period of one year. During that year period reports may be requested and inspections may be carried out regarding the competency of the operator.

The CAA issue a comprehensive set of guidelines relating to the application for the certificate (CAP414).
