General Description:

This Directive lays down minimum standards for the protection of pigs, which apply in all Member States,  to all holdings, newly built or rebuilt, except those holdings with fewer than six pigs or five sows with their piglets. Member States have to ensure that inspections are carried out and report the results to the Commission.
