Introduction

This note is aimed at Natural England advisers and gives guidance on how to set the indicators of success used to judge the restoration of species-rich grassland under Higher Level Stewardship option HK7. This option is designed to enhance grassland communities that are less species-rich than, and lack various species characteristic of, the target habitat. Indicators of success contain editable text which should be set to reflect the site and site-specific objectives. If the indicators are selected and set correctly they help to assess whether the grassland is being successfully restored.
