The NFU Scotland promotes and protects the interests of the Scottish farming industry. It influences Government in Scotland, Whitehall and Brussels, and it assists its members to meet the needs of their customers, consumers and the environment.

The NFU Scotland has close contact with Scottish farmers, growers and crofters, and others in allied industries, who are its members.

It has dedicated policy analysis and representation expertise, is respected by Government, and it has a strong media and public profile. It has already established an influential relationship with the new Scottish Parliament.

The NFU Scotland has 12,000 members organised into 85 District Branches.  Nine Regional Boards have responsibility for the operation and development of the NFU Scotland in their Regions.  Eight National Committees, develop NFU Scotland policies for representation to Government and others on behalf of the membership.

The Board of Management, directs and monitors both the overall representation of the Membership, and the operation and development of the organisation itself.
