ADLib Glossary (O)

Definition:

Off-specification

This means that the items that have been supplied do not meet the needs of the consumer. For example, if a supermarket asked for (specified) a certain size of carrot and the ones supplied were too small then they would be "off-specification" and may be sent back to the supplier.
