ADLib Glossary (C)

Definition:

Clean Pesticide Containers

These are taken to be containers that have been triple-rinsed.  If the container is triple-rinsed then it will not be classed as hazardous and this would include ones containing ingredients that may have stained the container inside. The only exception may be any product classed as Very Toxic, these may have to be looked at on a case by case basis. Sacks and Bags obviously cannot be rinsed but this does not preclude other cleaning activities such as shaking, cutting the bag open to ensure all the contents are removed etc. If all practical attempts have been made to remove the sack contents then the general principal will be that it is non-hazardous. Again if the content was in the Very Toxic category it may have to be looked at on a case by case basis. Some oil-based products may also be impossible to rinse effectively.
