Campaign Against Illegal Poisoning

This campaign is aimed at protecting some of the UKs rarest birds of prey and wildlife whilst also safeguarding domestic animals. It was launched by MAFF and the DETR in 1991. It is strongly supported by the RSPB, English Nature and the Game Conservancy Trust.

The Campaigns objectives are:

  1. To advise farmers, gamekeepers and other land managers on legal ways of controlling pests;
  2. To advise the public on how to report illegal poisoning incidents; and
  3. To investigate incidents and prosecute offenders.

A freephone number 0800 321 600 has been set up to make it easier for incidents to be reported. Further information is available from PSD.
